Cosmology

Vaelorys orbits a star very similar in size to Earth. It is commonly referred to as ‘The Sun’ but it has the eloquent name of Solyse.

The night sky of Vaelorys is largely populated by a large, white moon known as Lunae, followed by two smaller moons known as Cynthe and Creselena.

Timekeeping and Calendars

7 day weeks, 12 months in a year; 7 with 30 days and 5 with 31

Seasonal Calendar

Vaelorys marks seasons in the same way that Earth does; Winter, Spring, Summer, Spring in the Northern Hemisphere and shifted two seasons up in the Southern Hemisphere.

History

Vaelorys has had 6 key events/eras in recorded history.

The Settlement
- The Gods settled the planet that would one day be called Vaelorys; taming the elemental powers and creating life in their own visage.
The Fracture
- A sudden war between the Archon and Mortal life against the Primordial Titans and Illchor.
The Arcanic Age
- An age of rapid Magical development by Mortal Races that even began to cause concern amongst the Gods.
The Cataclysm
- A few-hundred year old war between the Archon and the Illchor; who had been released due to the arrogance of a singular Mage.
The Departure
- Following the defeat of the Illchor, the Archon; now joined by The Fate-Cloaked Maiden as the new god of death, created a barrier that barred all Divine Beings, regardless of alignment, from entering the Material Plane.
Post-Departure
- The contemporary age following The Departure; the current year is 920 PD.
