Havkyn
Summary
Section titled “Summary”Havkyn (HAV-KIN) is a Gyi’Gantos word that translates very literally “Half-Kin”, but it seems to be more colloquially used to mean “Mistake”.
The word refers to a small number of Goliaths with one Goliath parent and one Gyi’Gantos father.
Relevance
Section titled “Relevance”In Session 36 - Aurevald learned that he was Havkyn during his fight with Baldyr Oathkeeper. He recalled a conversation he had overheard as a toddler between his father; Toskaldr, and his Mother; Aurvelia, where the word was used - and then felt a burgeoning power boil from within.
Details
Section titled “Details”Toskaldr revealed that Gyi’Gantos magic seems to be mostly non-functional outside of the Feywild. Havkyn seem largely take after their non-Gyi’Gantos parents; with their Gyi’Gantos magic supressed/dormant.
Aurevald was told the story behind how Havkyn came to mean “Mistake”, but he has not shared that with anyone at this time.
